We have set out a guide below to help you understand the need for your artwork to be supplied to us in the most suitable format for the print that we are processing for you.To avoid unnecessary charges and delays and to ensure you receive the highest quality customisation please review our artwork guidelines below..

If you do not have the correct format we can carry out the work for you but a fee will be payable.  Our artwork fee, depending on your artwork, starts at £30 exc VAT.  Once we have carried out the conversion and the fee has been paid you will also receive a copy of the artwork.

Should you require any assistance with your artwork please contact us via email on hello@heatwaveprint.co.uk or via our mobile or WhatsApp on 07776 989 088.

EMBROIDERY

Our set up fees for embroidery start at £30 exc VAT.  This money converts your artwork to a file that works on our embroidery machines.  We will also run a sample and send to you for approval the first time we embroider your logo.  This allows  you to make any changes you wish, we will then run another sample for you.  Should you still require changes after the second sample further charges may apply.

SCREEN PRINTING

For screen printing we require your artwork to be in a .ai or .eps file, also known as a vector file, with each colour on its own layer.  This allows us to split out the colours and create a screen for each colour.  From here we can also match the ink to your pantone colour.  Depending on the fabric or the colours we will choose between a water-based ink or a plastisol ink.

DIRECT TO GARMENT

We can accept .png .jpg .svg for these prints but the resolution of the artwork must be at least 300dpi.  This ensures that the artwork is of sufficient quality for our machines to print.  We also require that any backgrounds you have on the artwork, that are the same colour as the garment colour you require, are removed.  This ensures that an additional layer of ink is not printed onto the garment and also improves the overall quality of the print.

VINYL

Heat pressed, CAD cut designs, require a vector file the same as our Screen Printing.  This is due to our cutting machine needed to follow the lines within the vector artwork.  This also enables us to cut out each colour layer separately and apply to your garments.  By supplying the correct format it will also ensure that you have quality straight or curved lines as required by your design.

DIRECT TO FILM

As with Direct to Garment, Direct to Film requires the same format for the artwork.  This can be in .png .jpg .svg for these prints but the resolution of the artwork must be at least 300dpi.  This ensures that the artwork is of sufficient quality for our machines to print.  We also require that any backgrounds you have on the artwork, that are the same colour as the garment colour you require, are removed.  This ensures that an additional layer of ink is not printed onto the garment and also improves the overall quality of the print.

SUBLIMATION

This method requires any of the formats we have mentioned above, including having a transparent background.  As standard sublimation is usually applied to white garments our printers do not print white ink so this should be factored in to your design.  If you do require white then this can be used by being the colour of the garment or other material we are printing on to.
